We are currently seeking a self-motivated Junior Geologist for our Lincoln, NE office.
Lead tasks related to planning, fieldwork and reporting phases for a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental projects, including preliminary assessments, site/remedial investigation, third-party construction oversight, and remedial design support under both State and Federal Programs
Overseeing and documenting environmental drilling and remedial construction activities to assure compliance with technical specifications
Prepare daily field reports and test summaries documenting fieldwork activities
Assisting management staff in preparation of proposal materials for a wide variety of project types and clients including private, commercial, state and federal
BS degree in Geology with emphasis in environmental, hydrogeology, geotechnical, or geophysics
0-3 years of experience with environmental consulting, including field-sampling procedures (various media including soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater), analytical data interpretation and reporting
Demonstratable basic understanding of subsurface geology and hydrogeology
Fundamental understanding of soil descriptions/logging using USCS or USDA soil classifications.
Strong written communication skills required
Proficiency with computer software for preparing planning documents and reports (Word, Excel, Project, etc.) required
Experience with various database software applications (i.e., EQuIS, etc.) and GIS is preferred
Experience with various groundwater modelling applications (i.e., MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3D, FEFLOW, etc.) preferred
Current OSHA HAZWOPER and First Aid/CPR certifications are preferred.
ASBOG certified or willing to pursue licensure is preferred
Overnight travel and extended travel for projects is required
