Junior Programmer/Analyst:
The Junior Programmer/Analyst Paid position provides an opportunity for someone with foundational technical skills to grow and expand while contributing to the Andrews Center Mission. A person in this position would initially begin with small and simple projects that would grow in scope and complexity over time. Assignments will be planned to grow knowledge and skills under the guidance of the existing staff within the realm of the Center's project needs. A person in this position would be expected to grow skills and leverage them in demonstrably increasing project complexity. The position is not intended as a permanent career position - demonstrable growth towards a more Senior position will be required over time as evaluated by the MIS Director.

The Andrews Center working environment is centered in Microsoft SQL Server and related toolsets including Visual Studio and SSRS. A person in this position will be expected to learn and grow skills in these tools via "on the job" training. As such prior experience with these tools and skills are preferred. Much of the work involves technical support for a Vendor Hosted Health Records system as well as its enhancements. There may be some development in one or more smaller adjunct applications.

The Andrews Center MIS Department is a small group supporting over 300 staff spanning a 5-county area. The Center is a Non-Profit Community Mental Health Center that serves thousands of individuals each year. An individual entering this position must have the adaptability and fortitude to deal with unstructured situations with limited resources.

This position may require the employee to drive representing the Center and therefore must have current Texas driver's license and meet insurability criteria.

Responsibilities:
Initially perform defined technical tasks under the direction of existing staff such as the execution of existing scripts
Provide Troubleshooting of user issues after an initial "shadow" period with existing staff
Build small queries in SQL that will grow in complexity with existing staff
Build stored procedures in the SQL Server leveraging the experience learned from creating the queries
Build SSRS reports leveraging the experience in query and procedure building above - growing in complexity over time
Other duties at the discretion of the Supervisor
Conduct Analysis and document specifications after initial training with in-house staff

Requirements:
Associates or higher Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or similar technical specialty
Demonstrable experience in at least one 3rd generation computer language - work experience is preferred
Substantial Skills with Microsoft Office - especially Excel, knowledge of ODBC with MS Access a plus
Ability to travel in the Center's 5 county area.

Additional

Experience at a Health Care related institution a plus
SQL Server experience with Stored Procedures and/or SSRS a plus

Tyler - $22.50 hr.
