We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Level II at our Santa Ana, CA facility.

JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer level II is responsible for all aspects of product development throughout the forging facility. Will be responsible to support all aspects of planning of new jobs and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for product development.
  • Responsible for building routers.
  • Responsible for all aspects of process improvement throughout the forging facility.
  • Embrace and promote the company’s culture beliefs as a means to achieve the Key Results.
  • Support other APP, Inc. facilities (including on-site).
  • Have and maintain a working understanding of GD & T.
  • Perform contract and purchase order review
  • Interact on the shop floor throughout the Company to problem solve and optimize current processes and procedures.
  • Support Lean Initiatives.
  • Provide reports and updates to various levels of the organization to achieve desired results.
  • Utilize problem solving experiences and expertise using a variety of problem solving methods.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Will be safety conscience and put safety first.
  • Demonstrates a firm commitment to quality.
  • Performs other duties as required by manager.
  • Comply with all APP, Inc. safety rules and company policies.
  • Report any equipment or facility defect(s) to supervisor.
  • Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported.
  • Wears proper PPE in work area at all time.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if any)
  • May involve supervising a small team
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years experience of Process, Quality or Manufacturing Engineering or 7+ years of Manufacturing experience in related (forging or casting) field.
  • Proven experience with Product Development functions.
  • Experience and understanding of aerospace and commercial manufacturing and specifications.

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office, CAD
Language Skills
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills for internal and external customer contact.

  • Advanced

  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical and presentation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Practices is highly desired.
Other
  • Forging experience preferred.
  • Aluminum metallurgical a plus.
