Engineer to support an Industrial Fabrication Shop with 50-70 personnel, that welds, fits, paints, machines and builds pre-fabrication products which are installed onboard Navy ships.
Assist in generating a Production Schedule, capacity and schedule analysis, pre-planning, resource planning, and analyzing workloads using an enterprise Shop Management software, such as, JobBoss.
Review fabrication drawings, track production progress, delivery and budgets.
Support management and production leads with preparing and reviewing process hazard analysis and machine safety assessments.
Perform root cause analysis for equipment, process or product failures.
Write maintenance procedures for production equipment.
Assess and analyze current manufacturing processes.
Develop and draft plans for manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
Assist in creation of new products, prototypes, work processes, and any other manufacturing needs.
Educate and train employees on current or new manufacturing and workflow processes.
Collaborate with QA personnel, management and production team to facilitate quality control and continuous improvement.
Review, write and assist in the development and implementation of efficient quality control processes.
Document and integrate lessons learned into product development processes.
BS degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years engineering experience required.
Proficient at reading and understanding fabrication drawings.
Computer proficient; confident using data analysis programs, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Problem solver familiar with root cause analysis techniques.
