Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in railroad design and passenger rail operations to join our rail team in our Los Angeles or San Bernardino office. In this role you will work on a diverse project portfolio with a variety of clients, other project managers, and support staff to ensure the successful completion of railroad related projects. The ability to effectively coordinate staff efforts to ensure timely and cost effective solutions to project requirements is a must.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail. Experience with winning and executing projects for public transportation agencies, state agencies, and local municipalities related to passenger rail and transit is desired. We are looking for someone with great communication skills and established client relationships who enjoys working in a team environment in a fast paced, professional setting.
Essential Job Functions:
Client interaction and coordination on a frequent basis.
Coordinates the plans and schedules of detailed phases of the engineering work and performs the design of major projects.
Monitors project schedules and job costs and ensures project performance.
Performs the design calculations of projects and checks the work of staff and design engineers assigned to projects under his/her control.
Supervises assistants, designers, technicians, and CADD operators/drafters assigned to the project team.
Prepares preliminary engineering reports, studies, and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
Participates in business development activities, such as; marketing, developing project win strategies, and preparing technical data for proposals and interviews.
Maintains well organized written records of decisions, meetings, telephone conferences, and other documentation for the permanent project record.

Skilled in project management, managing technical professionals, and demonstrated ability to lead and direct multiple concurrent projects.
Ensure quality management with implementation of quality control standards.
Travel is required
Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
MicroStation experience required.
8 - 10 years of experience in the rail industry, as well as being in project engineering or management positions relating to passenger railroad projects.
A licensed Professional Engineer, with the ability to be licensed in multiple states within 12 months.
Excellence in managing project pursuits, preparing proposals, and working with marketing staff.
A full suite of Project Management experience on multiple medium and small midstream projects.
