Function: Manufacturing Engineering
Title: Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineering - Waterloo, IA - 51938
This position will function as a Manufacturing Engineer in the WAS Drivetrain Assembly area to support projects and current production needs.
The position will assist with establishing and maintaining assembly processes and documentation.
This position will become familiar with current assembly processes and personnel as well as develop an understanding of the key business metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
This position will learn and support the tools and processes used in the ME job function.
Those tools include: SAP, Process mapping, Work Planner (WPlanner - tool to document the assembly process), Routings, Build Paper, Product Tracking, Product Build, Tooling, Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM), and Continuous Improvement Processes.
What It Takes
Self-starter who is motivated and driven
Strong MS office skills
Has a technology background
Has the ability to analytically work through problems and implement a solution
Pursuing a four-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Science, Industrial Technology or related field
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date of May 2020 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A strong candidate will also have
ACAD, PRO-E, and time study
