FCA is currently seeking Salaried Bargaining Unit Process Engineers to join our team at our new Detroit Assembly Plant. The Process Engineer professional is responsible for developing and executing standardization of manufacturing quality enablers and for performing process engineering activities, including simultaneous engineering, project management, plant launch support, continuous process improvement and other product/process assurance planning activities. The Engineer will support and contribute to Detroit 2 Assembly Plant World Class Manufacturing (WCM) program and tools.
The Process Engineer expert must be a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution vehicle quality. The selected individual will have experience in managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape and present outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. The Process Engineer will perform root cause analysis of quality issues using advanced problem solving tools, understand required assembly process standards in order to audit daily set standards, and recommend and implement cost-effective permanent corrective actions. The Process Engineer with analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure calibration, manage engineering changes working with cross-functional team to ensure timely execution and provide creative thinking to the analysis of data and the identification of new opportunities.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; OR minimum 18 months of experience in a manufacturing environment, with some knowledge of plant manufacturing processes, technology and tooling and equipment activities
Exposure to simultaneous engineering with product and/or process engineering suppliers
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with a variety of people at all levels within the organization
Self-directed, team oriented with demonstrated planning/problem solving skills
Experience and working knowledge of computer systems and software
Weekend/rotational work may be required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or related technical field
Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
