Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and electronic enclosures. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and existing designs. Directs vendors and prototype fabrication. Provides design information and drafting documentation. Experience creating and modifying 3D models and detail drawings utilizing SolidWorks. Experience can be work related, or skills based on educational pursuits. Candidate will take input from other Engineers to design mechanical models of enclosure structures and components, to be implemented in metal or plastic. Work inputs may be in the form of verbal instructions, red-lined Engineering drawings. This job requires producing timely results that are high quality and accurate. Benefiting from an analytical, inquiring and critical mind, this job requires imagination and strong problem solving skills, with a technical orientation.
Work with R&D to solve mechanical problems Datron products, new and existing.
Work with PCB layouts to ensure proper chassis and enclosure fits and tolerances
Create and/or modify drawings with notes and tolerance stackups.
Work with external vendors on manufacturing / procurement issues.
2-4 years of related work experience, hands-on educational experience or both
Minimum 2 years SolidWorks experience
Experience with Mechanical Tolerance Stackup and Analysis
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Demonstrates high attention to detail
Active contributor in a cross-functional team environment
Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
