Summary:
The Automation Engineer at Aalberts IPS in Pageland SC will be responsible for providing automation support such as programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for existing industrial robotics systems as well as integration of such systems as identified to increase productivity and efficiency. The Automation Engineer is tasked with supporting key company goals of reducing downtime, reducing scrap, and increasing production through automation.

This position will be based at the Foundry/Machining facility in Pageland SC and will support the facility where based as well as the Assembly facility also based in Pageland SC. Regular travel between the two facilities will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor, Program, Troubleshoot, and assist in the maintenance, operation, and repair of Fanuc, ABB, MotoMan, and other Robotic systems.
Utilize problem solving skills and root cause analysis when solving problems.
Assist Maintenance in the development of PM’s for automation equipment.
Assist in equipment updates, software and hardware revisions.
Assist in the specification, procurement, and installation of hardware and software as it relates to automation.
Participate in the product design process so as to tailor the designs to automation capabilities.
Design, program, simulate and test automation equipment and processes in order to complete desired tasks.
Work in a safe manner, following to all safety rules, protocols, and practices.
Other duties as assigned in relationship to the role of Automation Engineer.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Associates in Applied Science Degree in Electric, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering as it relates to the Job Responsibilities and desired skills.
Five years of experience in the areas of Industrial Automation, computers, PLC’s, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.

Desired Skills:
Industrial instrument, controls, and PLC trouble-shooting and programming experience with but not limited to FANUC LADDER-III, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
Creative, out-of-the-box thinking skills.
Detail-oriented personality.
Hands-on modeling and drafting experience using 3D Solid Modeling design software, Solid Edge or Solid Works preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Office.
Solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
Familiar with mechanical part feeding systems such as Vibratory Feeders, Mechanical Part manipulation, orientation, and the design of such systems and tooling.
Live communication skill-set which easily conveys complex thoughts to those with differing roles.
Ability and Dexterity as it relates to the role of Automation Engineer.
Team player who is willing to share knowledge and experience with team members.
