RMD Engineering's Mechanical Product Team (MPT) leads in mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system equipment. The MPT uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Six Sigma principles.
Entry level Mechanical Engineers perform research, design, analysis, and development in such areas as mechanical systems, thermal systems, materials, test equipment, hardware processes, or manufacturing processes. You would apply your skills to the planning, design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems, instruments, controls, and/or machines.
Technical disciplines and design products/service area of focuses include:
- Radar Engineering
- Command & Control Hardware Systems
- Undersea and Electronic Systems
- COTS Hardware Integration
- Mechanical Subassemblies and Equipment
- Hardware Engineering Process Group
- Configuration and Data Management
- Product and Test Equipment Development
- Manufacturing Engineering and hardware Development
Education – (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related engineering curriculum). Must be either currently pursuing degree or degree must have been granted in the last 18 months
U.S. Citizenship is required
ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
