CHA Consulting Inc, is currently seeking an Engineer I to join our Gas Group at a Liverpool, NY client site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigation and confirmation that all new materials match the factory specifications of the accompanying documentation.
Interprets engineering specifications and solves routine problems by applying defined procedures
Develops a familiarity with company standards, client expectations, and typical engineering practices
May accompany senior engineering staff on field assignments when appropriate
Performs other appropriate related engineering duties
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering (accredited) is required.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is preferred.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework related to natural gas transmission and distribution is preferred
Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
Preferred experience in materials science/materials inventory, especially carbon steel pipe and fittings through coursework or internships.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Participation in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
Strong attention to detail & high energy needed with a sense of urgency
