This position holds product engineering responsibilities within the Inverse Lithography Technology (ILT) mask synthesis product team. ILT is the most advance mask solver used by many leading edge wafer fab companies. We are seeking a senior engineer with significant OPC/RET, lithography and software scripting experience to help develop new RET/AF/ILT methods and to provide hands-on expert product engineering support for RET/AF/ILT tool usage. Responsibilities include:
Expert user of RET/AF/ILT software to understand current capability and limitations
Coordinate and lead internal partner groups (R&D, QA & related applications team) to define and evaluate mask synthesis products and technologies for customer introduction and long term roadmap deployment
Work with key customers and field support teams to resolve difficult problems and to develop requirements for future RET/AF/ILT needs.
Prototype and explore new RET/AF/ILT solution methods to guide development efforts
Train internal teams and external customers
We desire a candidate with extensive model-based OPC/RET/verification, rule-based geometry processing and software scripting experience in advanced technologies to ensure new development work is optimal for leading-edge customers. Skills and experience should include:
Very good knowledge of photolithography, OPC/RET principles, UNIX/Linux, and Python are required.
Experienced engineer with proficiency in mask OPC/ILT methodologies and technologies, who have demonstrated experience in the complete mask tape out cycle.
Prior direct experience with several (but not all) of the areas in the following list are strongly desired: EUV, machine learning, computation lithography, sub-resolution assist features (SRAF), rule-based OPC/AF, model-based OPC/RET, SMO, ILT, Design Rule Checking (DRC), pattern matching, lithography models (physical or compact) and OPC verification software.
Knowledge of Synopsys’ mask synthesis software tools and industry best-practice software development methodologies are desired but not required.
Great communication skills (written and verbal) and proven ability to help customers and development organizations be successful.
Strong problem-solving skills required with the ability to work in a fast paced and distributed team environment.
A self-motivated quick learner who can work independently, and be a team player when working within multi-regional cross functional teams
Moderate travel (~10%) will be needed (to internal offices in the USA but also to customer sites overseas). Knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin) or Korean is a plus.
