Our Wintech team is looking for a seasoned, hardworking, smart, and highly motivated Mechanical/Sales Engineer with experience in a manufacturing setting. You will be responsible for providing engineering expertise to the design and development of new products as well as improve existing designs. You will also be responsible for managing/supporting the engineering and outside sales team.
Wintech serves a wide variety of industries including marine, mining, manufacturing, material handling, inland terminal, and construction to name a few. These product lines include Hand Winches, Barge Winches, Barge Connectors, Barge Moving Systems, Rail Car Pullers, Electric Winches, Air Winches, Vertical Electric Capstans, Fairleads and Roller Chocks.
Manage the engineering teams efforts while also contributing your own engineering expertise in the form of sales, drawings, concepts, and customer relations.
Support the outside sales team with drawings, concepts, layouts, and leads on a daily basis
Product Design – Creatively design new products in a well planned form to present to supervision for approval. Monitor prototype creation for new product ideas. Perform structural analysis on new designs as well as financial analysis to determine if new products are feasible for manufacturing. Ensure designs are safe, functional, reliable, serviceable, manufacturable, and cost effective while creatively keeping esthetics and ergonomics in mind.
Product Release – Review and assist in engineering design release for production. Communicate with manufacturing on released orders and future products to be manufactured to generate a proper work flow for shop employees based on delivery dates.
Product leadership – Support supervisor with plans/schedules and keep status reports for all ongoing jobs. Provide technical support for other engineers as required. Coordinate with purchasing and sales with any required information they need to supply to vendors and customers.
Future Business Opportunities – Continuously look for new opportunities in other markets. Partner with sales team to plan, prepare, and execute strategic marketing and growth .
Inside Sales – Be able to discuss a customers need/plan and properly choose/develop the best mechanical solution possible.
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Proven work experience in Manufacturing and/or Sales Engineering
Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Are proficient with AutoCAD Mechanical
Are proficient with Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc…)
AutoCAD Inventor and Vault Experience preferred
5 years work experience
Willingness to travel if needed
