The Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer position has the responsibility for engineering, drafting, and planning of electrical facilities. The work includes, but is not limited to, the preparation of designs, reports, studies, layouts, and estimates for the installation and maintenance of electric facilities and other electrical engineering work. The work requires independent judgment, creativity, quality, timeliness, and the ability to work well with others.

Preference is for an electric utility engineer with prior distribution experience.

This position will be filled at either the Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer level, depending on candidate qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or comparable engineering degree, from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Engineering experience in a utility or related experience is preferred.
  • Driver’s license valid in Oregon, with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or comparable engineering degree, from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Oregon Professional Engineering license or other combination of education and/or experience, which provides the necessary skills to perform Senior Electrical Engineering work on the electrical power system.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Electrical Engineering job description functions.
  • Driver’s license valid in Oregon, with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Engineering experience in an electrical utility; distribution, transmission, and dispatch/switching experience.
