JW Aluminum Boilermaker Project is in search of an experienced Subject Matter Expert Trainer (SME) with experience in on-the-job training for our newest manufacturing facility in Charleston, SC. Reporting to the Assistant Manufacturing Manager, the SME Trainer is integral to the Next Generation WIN Teams
(NGWT). The SME ensure that their team has the resources and understanding needed to meet safety, quality and productivity goals. Create, implement training programs to coach and develop training for teammates. Helps create and deliver performance metrics, evaluates productivity, and helps workers complete long-term development plans within the Boilermaker organization.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive and manage Safety throughout the department and train teammates in a safe manner.
- Expert knowledge of machines and processes.
- Coaches and develops teammates to perform essential job functions.
- Develop, implement and monitor training programs.
- Create training schedules and coordinate with teammates.
- Conduct classroom and on-the-job training and testing of teammates.
- Conduct performance evaluations and coach performance feedback with teammates.
- Build solid cross-functional relationships with other teammates.
- Update all training for teammate records and matrix.
- Participate and/or lead lean events as needed.
- Creates, updates and trains teammates to Standard Work, Control Plans and JSA’s.
- Facilitates problem-solving among teammates.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control for the department.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Drives TPM activities.
- Works with Process Engineer to improve performance of shift.
- Successfully complete Next Generation WIN Team Overview training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 1-3 years of mechanically-based technical experience in Industrial Manufacturing environment.
- Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment with limited direction.
- Previous experience training and coaching teammates in manufacturing.
- Proficient in MS Office products.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Shift work and overtime required. Weekend and holiday support, as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to zero incident safety culture, teammate engagement, active teamwork, continuous improvement while practicing JW’s Target Behaviors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
