The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking an entry level software developer to join our going software development team. NNL develops the world's best nuclear propulsion systems, trains Sailors to operate them, and provides full lifecycle support, from technology development through design to disposal. As a Shipboard IT software developer, you will be part of a team that develops and support client/server and web-based applications that are installed onboard Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. You will play a primary tole in the design, development, implementation, test, support, and maintenance of these applications. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing high quality code,
Remediating and identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities,
Creating and performing automated testing, and
Drafting engineering documentation including architectural diagrams and technical specifications.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years relevant experience; or
Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year relevant experience
BS Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
Expertise in software engineering practices and software lifecycles models.
Experience with Dev/Ops and software automation techniques.
Familiarity with database architectures.
