SUMMARY
CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) Engineer is responsible for using engineering analysis tools to assist the Product and Test Engineers in developing robust product solutions for multiple STRATTEC and SPA products, or to improve engineering and business efficiency and productivity through computer-based solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The main focus for this position will be multi-body dynamic simulation using ADAMS software
Perform design analysis using CAE Software such as ADAMS, PATRAN, NASTRAN, MARC, MATLAB, MathCAD, Moldflow, Graphical Interface Programs, macros/embedded programming, etc. as applicable.
Develop and implement procedures, programs, or methods to reduce waste, increase productivity, and improve results within CAE Engineering and also in other areas of the VAST/STRATTEC enterprise, as applicable.
Provide clear and detailed results of the analysis. This includes written reports, summary sheets, and charts, as requested by Product Engineering, Management, and the customer.
Present these results verbally in person and via conference, as required.
Provide recommendations based on the analysis, including potential solutions to issues.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship with internal and external customers, as applicable, and communicate with them frequently in order to generate the most pertinent and useful analyses and solutions.
Maintain records of all activities and results in CAE project database or other applicable repository.
Participate in design reviews and provide insight and recommendations.
Ensure the maximum benefit of each analysis is achieved by looking across the organization and sharing the lessons learned to other programs and applications.
Manage multiple and concurrent projects through an updated tracking sheet / method, and meet promised commitments for project completion.
Support Continuous Improvement by keeping abreast of latest technologies as it relates to CAE systems / virtual engineering and potential implementation of new concepts as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :
Graduate or Post-Graduate degree on Mechanical Engineering, Mathematical Engineering or other relevant degree in the field of engineering or mathematics is required.
5 years minimum experience in CAE Engineering.
Proficient in CAE Software such as ADAMS, PATRAN, NASTRAN, MARC, MATLAB, MathCAD, Moldflow, Graphical Interface Programs, macros/embedded programming, etc. as applicable.
CAE Training Certificates / Endorsements are preferred.
Proficient in using 3D math models in or from UG/NX, CATIA, and/or CREO/Pro-E.
Have a working knowledge of GD&T principles.
Experience in formal root cause analysis methodology is preferred (Red X or 8D).
Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently and able to manage / set priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to multi-task, plan and organize work.
Able to work in a cross functional team and be able to effectively communicate.
Self-sufficient / self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
Business knowledge, understanding preferred.
Experience working for a Tier 1 automotive supplier is preferred.
Experience in closures is preferred.
