Buhler Industries Inc. is seeking a talented Developer / Programmer to join its IT department. As a Developer/Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications in a team environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Understand and follow IT processes and best practices, including database normalization, DDD, DRY, SOLID, source control, unit testing, and YAGNI.
Analyze, architect, design, code, test, document and implement software solutions.
Recommend, prototype and implement solutions based on requirements to provide an effective user experience while minimizing technical debt and administrative overhead.
Work with our software development team in delivering projects on time.
Perform root-cause analyses to identify and fix bugs.
Clearly communicate, both verbally and written, information regarding requirements and ideas to business analysts, colleagues, management, and stakeholders.
Review code and provide feedback.
Support project planning by providing technical details on tasks, estimates, resource projections and project preparations.
Strong organizational skills.
Experience in manufacturing environments would be an asset.
Experience designing UIs based on requirements and standardized patterns for consistent user experience would be an asset.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a community college diploma is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years related experience in C# Web development.
Knowledge of IT best practices, including database normalization, DRY, SOLID, source control, unit testing, and YAGNI.
Experience with SQL.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with ASP.Net MVC is a strong asset.
Experience with Domain-Driven Design is a strong asset.
Experience with html/css is an asset.
Experiences with agile methodologies or the Scrum framework are an asset.
Experience with Git is an asset.
Experience with Bootstrap is an asset.
Experience with WinForms is an asset.
Experience working in an AS400/DB2 environment is an asset.
Experiences with PHP, RPG or Lotus Notes are assets.
Ability to multitask and to work independently while under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines is an asset.
