OVERALL OBJECTIVE FOR OUR NEW COLORADO INNOVATION CENTER
As annual sales reach $200 million, we are not growing as fast as we did in the past as categories mature and competition increases. In order to return to high, sustainable growth, Wholesome Sweeteners is opening an innovation center in Colorado (Boulder/Louisville area) which will be the hub for our marketing, innovation, and sales teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are currently looking for approximately 6 experienced natural foods professionals who want to help consumers (and retailers) navigate how natural sweeteners best fit into their lives. Must have a strong desire to use business as a force-for-good and connect personally with our social and environmental values. Only folks who are open to exploring possibilities and love working with others to make things happen need apply! The below positions are in addition to project management, creative, and sales roles that are currently filled. We may adjust the exact roles based on the combination of skills and experiences of interested candidates to build the strongest total team possible.
Head of Marketing (Open) This senior marketer will own the equity and marketing strategy of the Wholesome brand, as well as all aspects of business management. The following open roles will report to the Head of Marketing (four total direct reports):
Brand Manager (Open) Primary responsibility for the development and execution of marketing plans, as well as tracking and reporting of business trends.
Consumer Engagement Manager (Open) Owns the management of direct consumer touch points including social, digital, and shopper marketing.
Head of Innovation (Open) Senior marketer or product developer with experience creating an innovation strategy and associated innovation pipeline. Ideal candidate has experience using rapid prototyping to quickly assess ideas and examples of successful new product launches. The following role will report to the Head of Innovation:
Product Developer (Open) Food scientist with experience developing food concepts based on understanding of consumer trends. Ideal candidate will have specific experience working with a variety of sweeteners.
Category Development Manager (Open) Reports to the VP of Consumer Sales. This person will develop and help the sales team execute category growth strategies, leveraging a variety of data, tools, and insights. The Category Development Manager will become a trusted adviser to our top retailers.
PRODUCT DEVELOPER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Product Developer is a food scientist with experience developing food concepts based on a deep understanding of current consumer trends. A passion for exploring new ingredients or ways to use them is a must. Ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of sweeteners. This person will help define how natural sweeteners evolve to better meet the needs of consumers given the continuing "no/less sugar" trend. Must be comfortable rapidly developing food prototypes and getting quick, direct feedback from co-workers, family, people on the street, etc. This role reports to the Head of Innovation.
Develop a large number of product prototypes
Stay current on consumer and industry trends to guide product development
Leverage suppliers and other partners for ingredients and product development
Lead consumer research for product concepts/prototypes
Opportunity to influence packaging structures/materials
Ensure the high quality of products that we launch in test markets or nationally
