Position Summary
Ultra Fine Specialty Products is actively seeking an experienced and dynamic, technically oriented individual to further develop the capabilities of its atomization process. This individual will gain a strong overall knowledge of the workings of all production departments. This person will contribute to improving our production, quality control, and product development efforts and will be responsible for implementing new technology and improving the production process. The successful candidate will be able to communicate with all levels of the organization in addition to demonstrating a strong level of commitment toward delivering consistent, timely results. This position reports to the Director of Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Technology on the sourcing, development, and optimization of new equipment, materials, processes, and products that satisfy changing or emerging market demands.
- Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, production equipment, and quality control standards.
- Support the factory floor to ensure that 100% of what we ship to our customers meets or exceeds agreed-upon specifications and delivery dates by providing technical expertise, how-to information, and hands-on problem analysis/solutions to operators and technicians.
- Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Produce positive project results through solid data gathering and measurement tools.
- Create applicable, detailed work instructions and manufacturing process documents that ensure safe and successful process execution.
- Ensure that the knowledge base of Ultra Fine remains current on the process and procedural controls as it relates to our manufacturing operations.
- Monitor and improve safety in manufacturing operations by addressing ergonomic and other safety concerns.
- Share responsibility for facilities expansion and assist with engineering and construction as required
- Perform all administrative and reporting duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Experience/Educational Requirements:
- B.S. degree in a science or engineering area
- Experience in a manufacturing setting preferable.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and time management skills.
- Solid project management skills.
- Sound analytical &problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on a “hands on” approach.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles and practices preferred.
- Strong and persistent drive to deliver positive results.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Salary: $71,000 - $120,000 Depending on experience
