Purpose of Position
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
Why does the job exist?
Oversee the construction management of all aspects of assigned roadway and/or bridge construction projects within District Four as assigned by the Assistant District Engineer of Construction to ensure that all the goals and objectives of the projects are defined, implemented and attained.
How does it get done?
Construction Projects oversee and assist upper and lower management as well as non-management employees assigned to highway and/or bridge construction projects. Ensure compliance with New Mexico State and Federal codes and regulations in addition to New Mexico Department of Transportation Standards Specification and Special Provisions. Work in accordance with all contractual requirements, Federal Highway Administration and New Mexico Department of Transportation policies and procedures. Position is responsible for making recommendations with respect to budget and staffing.

The ideal candidate has experience in.
- Construction, Maintenance, Engineering Support and the public in order to achieve
cost effective projects.
- In contract claims.
- Resolving disputes with contractors concerning quantities, interpretation of plans,
specifications and negotiate changes.
- Assisting ADE with construction plans and field reviews, project field inspections
and project documentation.
- Supervision of employees understanding Department, District, state and
federal policies, procedures and guidelines.
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

1 High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 12 years of experience
2 Associate's degree AND 10 years of experience
3 Bachelor's degree AND 8 years of experience
4 Master's degree AND 6 years of experience
5 PhD degree AND 4 years of experience
- Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
- If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
