Position Title: Quality Engineer

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for performing in-process and final inspections according to the OHE Industries’ quality work instructions. They will assist management in making sure production standards are maintained, while reporting any discrepancies.

Position Description:

  • Understand the work product, read and interpret prints from a variety of customers and understand the work specifications
  • Utilize various measuring devices and testing equipment, eg: micrometers and calipers
  • Perform in-process and final inspections according to OHE Industries’ Quality Work Instructions as directed by management
  • Assist management in obtaining any necessary information when analyzing, establishing and reviewing production standards.
  • Document any discrepancies in material, methods, or machinery in a timely manner per OHE’s Quality Work Instructions. Report all issues to management based on SOP - ISO regulations
  • Prepare shipments according to the day’s Daily Shipping Report.
  • Responsible for making sure that First-In, First-Out, Partial Quantities in Finished Goods are prepared for shipment on the day’s Daily Shipping Report.
  • Complete all accompanying paperwork for shipping before the next activity is started
  • Inspect completed product that does not appear on the Daily Shipping Report.
  • Tests product against quality standards
  • Follows shop floor order instructions regarding all processes
  • Other duties as assigned, to be performed and will be determined by the daily schedule and as deemed necessary by management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and/or machine at all times

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma a must
  • 1-2 years prior work experience in a similar production environment
  • Exposure to ISO standards is desirable
  • Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment
  • Dependable and punctual with a solid work ethic
  • Good listening skills, follows directions easily, and detail oriented

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of lifting and/or handling containers and/or spools (i.e.: of wire) with a weight limit up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Employee is regularly required to walk, reach, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Employee is regularly required to talk, listen (hear) and use visual abilities, specifically close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and discern.
  • Employee must regularly push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • While performing this job the employee must repetitively move arms, wrists and/or fingers.
