We currently have an opening in our Pasadena office for an Associate Energy Engineer to provide engineering support for a variety of energy efficiency programs. This position requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in the energy field.
Prepare written analysis of findings and recommendations for energy efficiency, demand response, and self-generation measures for submittal to clients.
Conduct site inspections and/or gather data needed to perform energy-related analyses of sites or equipment.
Utilize analytical tools and measurement and verification methodologies to evaluate the performance of, and make recommendations for, energy systems and equipment.
Conduct energy audits in industrial, commercial, agricultural, and municipal facilities.
Interact closely with project managers and clients in order to meet project deadlines and budgets.
Bachelor of Science degree required in an Engineering discipline, ME preferred.
EIT (FE) Certification, PE and/or CEM preferred.
Minimum two years of experience in energy engineering or design engineering (HVAC or process).
Proficiency with Energy Modeling software (e.g. eQUEST, EnergyPro, EnergyPLus, TRACE 700, etc).
Basic understanding of measure-based energy analysis tools – Air Master, PSAT, SSAT, etc.
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, lighting, motors, steam, refrigeration, and industrial equipment.
Basic understanding of energy de-regulation, demand side management, supply side management, permanent load shifting, and demand response.
Basic understanding of ASHRAE audit levels.
Basic understanding of energy codes and design standards – ASHRAE 90.1, Title 24, ASHRAE 62, etc.
Basic understanding of benchmarking concepts and resources – ENERGY STAR, CEC, etc.
Basic understanding of IPMVP M&V Protocols.
Ability to conduct fieldwork and interact with clients in a professional and responsive manner.
Must have reliable transportation, this position requires travel to customer sites.
