The HP Corvallis site consists of 2 million square feet of floor area in 11 buildings used for semiconductor MEMS R&D and development and manufacturing. Corvallis Site is HP’s leading technology development site, with clean room fabs, laboratories, and manufacturing activity onsite. It is a dynamic environment where critical infrastructure systems must be updated and modified to ensure that business needs are met.
Participate as a member of the facilities infrastructure engineering team with other systems engineers, systems designers, project managers, and internal and outsourced partners to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high quality facilities infrastructure solutions that support development and manufacturing operations.
The Process Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, installation and operation of high purity gas, chemical, and water distribution systems, exhaust scrubbers and acid neutralization systems.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop engineering scopes of work for projects.
Provide engineering design review and evaluation of infrastructure systems.
Partner with operations and maintenance service providers to ensure systems are maintained and operated within specified limits.
Establish and maintain positive working partnerships with business and/or process owners.
Partner with business units and internal customers to provide engineering solutions in support of their tools and systems to allow manufacturing operations to operate efficiently and effectively.
Drive energy projects that save energy and reduce operating costs, and that take advantage of available energy rebates and credits.
Manage process systems roadmaps and asset replacement strategies to ensure reliability, redundancy, and capacity are available for expansion of existing facilities, renovation, and future growth.
Troubleshoot systems issues and provide evaluation, recommendations, and solutions to resolve problems.
Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced partners regarding state and condition of process systems and provide and technical expertise for resolution of issues.
Provide strategic and technical leadership to entry level engineers, designers and technicians and maintenance service providers.
Ensure systems documentation is completed and archived.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
Five or more years of relevant facilities infrastructure experience.
Experience with ultrapure water systems and industrial wastewater systems.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with peers and business partners.
Ability to lead and work collaboratively across functions and departments in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Ability to effectively communicate proposals, plans and results, and negotiate options.
Proficiency with standard office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Desired Skills and Experience:
Oregon Professional Engineers License.
Experience with high purity gas and chemical distribution systems.
Experience with acid exhaust scrubbers.
Experience with R&D product or technology development programs.
