The Robotics Automation Engineer, will have extensive theoretical and hands-on experience in all facets of robotic applications used in Manufacturing, as well as experience managing new product introductions, equipment projects (new installations) and process optimization, upgrades & modifications. Experience with multiple industrial robot brands, preferred.
Responsibility for designing, selecting and testing processes and prototypes for robotic systems.
Conducting research in various robotics fields (artificial intelligence, advanced materials)
Develop cost-efficient processes to produce, test and maintain quality control for the machines
Responsible for continuation of process monitoring and optimization.
Develop and implement software for robot programming
Create prototypes and work on necessary components (microprocessors, PLC’s, & safety systems)
Develop custom robot application code to interface with new technologies
Monitor and stay on top of new advancements in robotics and relevant fields of engineering.
Support maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures.
Project management: both internal maintenance projects, and major contractor projects.
Develop procedures and maintain proper documentation related to robotics system
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Minimum Degree: BS in mechatronics engineering, industrial engineering, robotics engineering, control systems engineering or applicable field of study.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years ’ extensive experience Robotic programming and applications, preferred.
Excellent robotic high level and back ground programming skills
Hands on experience commissioning and programming industrial robots
Robotic mechanical and electrical trouble shooting skills.
Experience with Robot simulation packages as well as off-line programing.
Virtual commissioning experience of a robotics system is a plus.
Knowledge on programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, HTML, ROS
Experience on robotics applications such as Spot Weld, Stud Weld, Adhesive, Self-Piercing Rivet, Vision, Arc Weld, Roll hemming.
Experience in welding automation for major automotive manufactures a plus
Good overall people management skills.
Proficient in CAD (CATIA is a plus)
Basic PLC programming knowledge is a plus
