Supports and enhances patient care at client healthcare facilities by supporting other health care professionals in the safe and effective use of medical devices in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Arranges technical consultations; including pre-purchase technical evaluation/justification, clinical applications problems, and investigations of incidents.
As a VAT member, aids in the System's medical device acquisition and utilization strategies.
Leads the Biomedical Engineering department in capital medical device standardization/planning/acquisition.
Investigates medical device based internal incidents.
Responsible for maintaining medical device - based regulatory compliance activities.
Provides IRB support as a Board member.
Leads special projects that enhance patient safety / outcomes / operational efficiency.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any Biological Science.
Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering or any engineering that includes Physiology and Biological Systems. (Preferred)
Minimum experience of at least one year in Biomedical or Clinical Engineering, as a *Clinical Engineer, intern or equivalent work experience. (Preferred)
Biomedical or Clinical Engineering internship during academic studies. (Preferred)
Professional registration (Preferred).
Certified Clinical Engineer (C.C.E.) (Preferred)
