Aleris is a global leader in the manufacture and sale of aluminum rolled products, with approximately 14 facilities in three geographically aligned business units in North America, Europe, and China. We serve a variety of end-use industries including aerospace, automotive, defense, building and construction, transportation, packaging, and consumer goods.
Our Lincolnshire, IL facility is seeking to add a talented Reliability Engineer to its team. The purpose of this role is to safely, efficiently and effectively contribute to the overall equipment reliability of the Lincolnshire plant and champion defect elimination. The individual in this position will use his/her knowledge and skills to plan and implement capital projects, drive technology improvements, and provide solutions that delivery productivity and improve operations within the plant. This position requires an individual with great technical ability, a passion for improvement, and excellent communication skills.
Work safely, in compliance with all corporate, plant, local, state and federal rules and regulations, and keeping abreast of current policies, procedures, ensuring vendors/contractors comply with the same. Also, investigate, develop, and provide recommended solutions for any safety issue related to plant equipment requiring engineering as assigned.
Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, process, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines and Asset Maintenance Plan that includes (but is not limited to):
Value-add preventative maintenance tasks;
Effective utilization of predictive and other NDT methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
Works with production to perform analyses of assets including asset utilization, OEE, remaining useful life, and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability, and costs of assets.
Provides technical support to production, maintenance, management, and technical personnel.
Design, perform, and analyze detailed/routine PM/PdM routes.
Planning, scheduling, and executing capital projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes accruing resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
Other duties, tasks, and functions as assigned by plant leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering is required.
Three to five years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Extensive working knowledge of machinery, process equipment and associated maintenance practices.
Knowledge and ability to use SPC, reliability modeling and prediction, FTA, Weibull Analysis, Lean/Six Sigma Methodology, RCA, RCFA, FRACAS.
Must be able to develop a positive working relationship with plant management and be a respected member of the site along with a proven track record of successful project implementations and initiatives.
Must possess strong administrative and communications skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional.
Work experience in multiple disciplines, such as Maintenance and Engineering or Engineering and Operations.
Previous reliability experience.
Training and knowledge of predictive technologies certification (vibration, thermography, tribology, etc.).
