As a Controls Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes. You will apply your technical knowledge by providing automation solutions for the chemical process equipment involved, work process, unit operations, operating condition or process technology improvements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
5 years of experience in supporting Control Systems in a semiconductor environment.
Knowledge of windows-based systems, networks, and virtualization is desirable.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Hands-on approach to engineering
Ability to operate under pressure on tight timelines while producing detailed and accurate documents
PLC programming (Allen-Bradley experience preferred)
HMI/SCADA application experience (Ignition experience preferred)
Working knowledge of data historian applications (OSISoft experience preferred)
Here's More of What You'll Be Doing
Programs control applications for various distributed control systems. Writes simulation applications in order to verify functionality of the control program and for training plant operators.
Participates in project commissioning and startup activities, including tuning of control loops
Develops knowledge and skills in all aspects of Process Automation.
Obtains basic knowledge of unit operations and Chemical Engineering fundamentals.
Knowledge of batch process control /ISA-88 and ISA-95 standards
Experience with SQL Server and Reporting Services
Knowledge of control system design (low-voltage electrical design, P&IDs, VFD setup, AutoCAD)
Experience with network design (Ethernet/IP preferred)
Support the plant in all aspects of the electrical maintenance troubleshooting using PLC programming skills and a thorough understanding of a machine’s sequence of
Strategic planning of control system replacements / upgrades to include design and implementation.
Support the new equipment design reviews when required to review the status of the machine design and provide input in reference to the plant's specifications and good design practice.
Responsible for coordinating the implementation of engineering changes and assisting various departments with the implementation of new tools and processes and required training.
Manage large and small equipment improvement projects in the plant as a leader.
Manage the capital budget for all the necessary equipment purchases
Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions.
Make suggestions to management for improving this position or improving work processes.
Work safely by observing safety rules, policies and procedures. Identify unsafe conditions or actions to management.
Other duties as assigned.
