This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
The supply engineer provides technical work and directs others in technical work in the planning, designing, procurement and construction of additions, changes or maintenance to MidAmerican Energy Company's generating units. The senior engineer may participate in the direction of work for the engineer II, engineer I, drafting technicians, contractors and craft personnel. The senior engineer will also provide assistance to managers and principal engineers on higher-level projects.
Provide engineering services for the planning, design and construction of project additions or maintenance to MidAmerican Energy Company's generation system. (40%)
Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. (25%)
Conduct engineering studies and investigations and prepare oral and written reports. (15%)
Provide engineering assistance to other departments. (15%)
Attend training in designated areas. (5%)
Provide technical leadership to staff.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
1+ years of industry experience required for Engineer II level.
5+ years of industry experience as a practicing engineer required for Senior level. Additionally, must be a licensed PE. If no PE license then must have eight or more years as a practicing engineer for Senior Engineer level.
High level of technical knowledge, judgment and capability in the engineering discipline.
Effective communicator with technical and managerial personnel within and external to MidAmerican Energy Company.
