Summary/General Description Of Job:

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) facilities engineering team is seeking a skilled and driven individual to join our team. Our team provides engineering support in the design, construction, and maintenance, for select Missile Defense Complex (MDC) facilities on Fort Greely. Leads and prepares engineering documentation for electrical systems; including power distribution, standby power, lighting, communications, fire alarm, security and various other special systems. Assesses feasibility and completeness of proposed engineering tests, equipment, projects, and designs. Provides engineering support for both preventative and corrective maintenance as well as trouble analysis

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Electrical planning, design work and cost estimations for new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for a variety of real property facilities.
  • Primary deliverables include statements of work, specifications and cost estimates
  • Electrical preventative maintenance planning and field oversight
  • Primary deliverables include switching orders and impact assessments
  • Utilize a professional knowledge of electrical theory, standard engineering theory and techniques to perform requirement determinations
  • Ability to work independently, or with minimal supervision
  • Participate in design reviews and provide written assessments of third-party designs
  • Assist in determining requirements, assembling requirements document, attending RFP/Design charrettes and the RFP/Design processes
  • Adhere to Wolf Creek Federal Services Inc. (WCFSI) information policies, directives, standard operating procedures, and the company safety program

Accountable For:

  • Keeping up-to-date and knowledgeable of applicable industry regulations and compliance requirements
  • Developing policy, procedures, operating guidance and/or training as required
  • Communicating effectively, orally and in writing, including the ability to make presentations to senior team and client management
  • Effectively coordinating a number of projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrating the ability to work well under pressure

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Professional Associations/Licenses):

Mandatory

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university program OR Obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, reports, and submittals
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level within 6 months of employment
  • Capable and willing to provide occasional engineering support in the field under all environmental conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract
  • Fluent in oral and written English language
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a common access card (CAC), post-employment

Preferred

  • Minimum of three years of applicable/relevant electrical engineering experience
  • NFPA standards including NEC.
