SUMMARY
Responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing changes in product design, manufacturing methods and process improvements. Develops continuous improvement initiatives using various continuous improvement methodologies and principles (e.g. 5S, Kaizen, etc.). Analyze and present data to ensure continuous improvement success is quantified. Promotes and supports teams in the application of continuous improvement methodologies and principles.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
Drives continuous improvement activities.
Drives activities to attain plant goals and targets.
Ensures continuous improvement projects are on schedule.
Drives continuous improvement projects to a successful conclusion.
Ensures that best practices are communicated and followed up on.
Ensures managers and supervisors are included in continuous improvement projects.

ANAYLSIS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS:
Ensure root cause analysis is performed to establish effective corrective measures.
Collaborate with area leadership to establishing corrective measures.
Assist with providing training to affected employees on root cause analysis results
and the subsequent changes to procedures and work practices.

TRAINING:
Conduct informational meetings to keep management team and Supervisor informed
of changes to processes resulting from continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions.

Assist Supervision with training for production employees on corrective actions and
continuous improvement initiatives that affect procedures and work practices.

PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Monitor production trends daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of key metrics.
Develop projects to improve performance with the guidance of Process Engineer Manager.
Utilize performance trends to measure the success or failure of implemented processes.

SAFETY, QUALITY, AND FOOD SAFETY:
Support the Tomah Health and Safety program.
Support the Quality Management System and the Food Safety program.
Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Reinforces all plant policies and procedures.
Reinforces all plant and department safety rules.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Education
4-year degree OR equivalent company job specific work experience.

Professional background
Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant work experience

Professional competencies

Knowledge of general manufacturing preferred
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office required
Knowledge of printing / converting industry helpful
