Experienced Project Engineer from Chemical or Plastics Industry
60% establish operational systems to track performance, identify gaps, and lead continuous improvement projects to improve productivity, quality, runtime, process capability and unit cost.
15% Performs new product trials in manufacturing and is involved in process setup, testing, and report generation.
15% Provides project engineering support for design / commissioning / documentation of new / modified production processes.
10% Involved in training plant and operations personnel in new process technology. Creating standard operating procedures for new equipment and process methods.
The Process Engineer has primary responsibility to apply engineering principles to:
Collaborate with operational team to improve systems to record and report key operational performance data (product rates, yields, uptime, unit cost, etc.)
Analyze performance data to identify gaps and root cause
Conduct routine and innovative chemical engineering calculations in unit operations analysis in support of adhesives manufacture and process development. Routinely calculates financial impact of process alternatives and presents recommendations to management.
Lead continuous improvement projects to improve productivity, quality, run-time, process capability, and unit cost.
Support new product scale-up in manufacturing
Support commissioning of new equipment / processes.
Ensure proper design / safety reviews are conducted and proper management of change procedures are followed for new and existing processes
BS Degree in Chemical Engineering
5+ years practical process or applications engineering experience in industry
3 + years of experience with evaluating and optimizing manufacturing processes including statistical analysis
3 + years of experience with team leadership on process optimization efforts
Ability to travel up to 10%
