Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc., (AMA) maintains an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented Advanced Aircraft Concepts and Systems Engineer to join our multi-discipline research team in Hampton, Virginia as part of the TEAMS 3 contract at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC).
The selected candidate will apply computer aided design (CAD) skills in support of aerospace research objectives that include designing laboratory and experimental equipment for in-house applications, and developing and modifying computational grids for use in structures and computational fluid dynamics analysis models. It will be necessary to transition efficiently between separate teams and work settings associated with technical disciplines relating to aircraft performance and sizing, radio frequency testing, hypersonic aerodynamics, and spacecraft sub-systems or components. All design work will be completed in accordance with all applicable NASA safety protocols, scheduling directives, and deliverable requirements.
- B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Five (5+) years Computer Aided Design (CAD) engineering experience is desired (Creo, Catia, SolidWorks)
- Ability to identify and take on new tasks as required for supporting team objectives
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products
- An active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance is required. Eligible for a Top-Secret (TS) Security Clearance
U.S. Citizenship is required for the advertised position.
