This position will support the development of MotorGuide Trolling Motors and ASG Products which are developed and launched in our Lowell, MI facility.
A leading candidate for this position will be passionate in their desire to facilitate Attwood's mission of: Making life on the water easier to enjoy by developing and delivering high value marine products and being the best-in-class supplier to boat builders and distribution partners.
We are seeking Engineering Co-ops to join our engineering team in Lowell, MI. Responsibilities of this position varies depending on your area of concentration each semester. These concentrations and responsibilities will include:
Test Lab Engineering Co-op
- Mentorship from seasoned Lab Technicians
- Assist in incoming and receiving tests
- Assist in product validation
- Test and analyze products and system data
- Execute test plans for product validation
- Design and fabricate test fixtures
Design Engineering Co-op
- Mentorship from seasoned Mechanical Engineers
- Concept and design mechanical components used in Attwood products
- Building, testing, and analyzing system data
- On-water product testing
- Design and 3D modeling for new and current product
- Participate in team prototype builds
- Fabricate prototype components or test fixtures utilizing a drawing or other instruction

Successful candidates will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, PDM or a related field and 2+ years of higher education is preferred. Candidates must have:
- Good interpersonal skills
- The ability to coordinate numerous projects in a professional and ethical manner
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred
- Hands on, hand and power tools experience is preferred
- Boating, fishing and/or marine industry experience is beneficial but not required.
