Position Description:
Seeking an experienced and highly competent Senior Level COBOL Software Engineer/Developer to work on Enhancement, New Development, & Production Support Projects for a mission critical Legacy Application (Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting, VI&D). Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting is a Mainframe/COBOL Legacy application; approx. 50+ years old with Online and Batch Programs.
The ideal candidate is independent, very organized, with a keen sense of detail and a natural ability to develop solutions. Candidate performs superbly under pressure and can balance a number of disparate projects. The Software Engineer must deliver their project on time and with high quality, according to defined processes. Experience with Agile methodology is a must. Difficult situations and business partner conversations must be handled tactfully. Both the Business and the Team must like you, trust you, and feel comfortable around you. VI&D is a mission-critical application and core to our Company, so some level of stress is expected. If you're up to the challenge, we look forward to speaking with you.
Skills Required:
Strict Process Discipline with exposure to Agile Techniques.
Logical/Critical Thinker.
COBOL Expert; JCL; VSAM; DB2; IMS (Strong IMS - Online and Batch); IBM Utilities (file manager, IEB GENER) ENDEVOR.
Excellent/outstanding Communications Skills (verbal and written).
Superb documentation Skills.
Strong ability to drive requirements gathering process with Business Partners.
Superior Technical competency with great initiative.
Strong can-do attitude, with a natural ability to understand complex Applications and interconnections with upstream and downstream applications.

10+ years of advanced experience working on a complex Legacy Applications.
Experience Preferred:
Experience with Agile Process and Rally.
Education Required:
BA+ in Computer Science or related industry.
