Position Purpose: Work with plant management and personnel daily to help improve plant safety, quality, throughput and reduce costs through research, design, development and installation of devices and systems.
Principle Accountabilities
1. Responsible for safe work habits and ensuring that all equipment operates in a safe manner.
2. Leads large projects by defining and issuing work to assigned team members or runs multiple small projects with minimal direction
3. Creates all project documents according to internal processes to ensure that designs meet customer expectations
4. Maintains a progress schedule that meets project milestones
5. Provides documentation and support to the field team
6. Creates Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs
7. Performs on-site commissioning
8. Performs system validation according to scope documentation and project requirements
9. Directs assigned team in the field and assigns priorities consistent with project needs; reports progress to project and engineering management
10. Ensures that all project checklists and electronic documents created by the project team are complete and archived
11. Provides input to the project lessons learned process
12. Reviews customer specifications and scope documentation for quotation and clarification
13. Performs process checks and design reviews
14. Provides back-up for Engineering Managers
15. Follows engineering standards
16. Travels up to 30%
17. Related tasks as requested by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field, or relevant Engineering discipline
· Minimum of 8 years of related experience
· Experience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers an PLCs
· In-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems, including HMI, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers, Siemens PLCs and Schneider PLCs
· Proficient with 2D drafting software like Draft Sight
· Ability to lead a team and accomplish project goals effectively
· Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Team-oriented and collaborative
· Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
· Ability to learn new technologies
· Aptitude and willingness to be a self-starter
· Willingness to work as required to meet schedules
