Role and Responsibilities
Thetford LLC in Ann Arbor, MI is adding a Field Service Engineer for Marine and RV to their team. Reporting to the Global Marine Business Unit Manager (Europe resident), this position will provide strategic support for both Marine and RV Sales teams by servicing internal and external training with particular focus on macerator technology and by interacting with OEMs, Dealers, Distributors, Sales Reps and consumers for technical support. The selected candidate will also participate to Marine and RV trade shows when required and support their preparation and set-up. In addition, they will collaborate with Product Management and Engineering for product’s modifications, new skus, certifications and any other product related activities for the permanent macerator toilets, including laboratory testing. The selected candidate’s knowledge should also include some generics of refrigeration and marine care.
  • Develop and execute product’s trainings internally and externally.
  • Be a value-added touch point for Inside Sales and Customer Service regarding permanent macerator technology.
  • Be a technical support for both Marine and RV OEMs regarding product’s installation.
  • Update, assess, train, and develop where required a North American Service Network for both Thetford and Norcold, collaborate with marketing to keep updated the list of active service network on corporate website.
  • Participate in product development activities, in regular Business Unit meetings, and in trade shows when required.
  • Support Product Manager in the maintenance of the service parts book.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Experience with OEM, Dealers, Technical sales, and Customer Relationship Management
Ann Arbor based, approximately 50% national travel required
Preferred Skills
CSA, ABYC Electrical and Hydraulic Certification or equivalent
Demonstrated personal interest in boating and/or RVing
Knowledge of refrigeration or sanitation product and marine/RV care
Experience and desire to work on a global team.
