Weaver Consultants Group are looking for a Staff Civil Engineer for our Chicago office. The position is for an entrepreneurial-minded, qualified, and knowledgeable professional who seeks a fast-paced and challenging work environment, an opportunity to grow, and a desire for autonomy. Prepare engineered dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects through Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Confer with supervisor or senior engineers to identify project parameters, standards, and specifications. Assure overall compliance in work
Develop good communication, writing, and organization skills necessary, including collaboration and coordination with senior staff
Prepare exhibits, maps, graphics, and concept plans to be used in project presentations and proposals
Assist and implement site layout grading, drainage, site utilities, including design of force mains, storm water management and erosion and sediment control
Prepare reports to document project activities and findings
Read and review drawings, maps, and specifications for application to project
Perform design calculations inclusive of geometrics, utility plans, profile and earthwork calculations, material quantities, and cost estimates
Must be self-starting, willing to work independently, and work in a team environment
BS degree in Civil Engineering
Experienced knowledge of Civil Engineering
Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience
Intermediate knowledge in AutoCAD
Proficient Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Professional License is a plus
Ability to travel 10%
