Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing Real Estate Development firm with $550M of projects in development, with an additional $300M in the pipeline. With an exciting and broad portfolio of projects: from mixed-use developments in a number of Opportunity Zones (OZs) to cutting-edge buildings supporting biotech breakthroughs to multi-family to entertainment complexes in high-profile areas. The company is owned by a team of entrepreneurs with a track record of multiple successful exits.
Our client is seeking a well-rounded and experienced development/construction executive (President) to lead their small, agile and growing team. A proven track record of success in commercial real estate development with 15+ years of development leadership experience is a must. This position will report to the Owner/CEO. The President will have an attractive ownership stake, thus must “think like an owner” of this hypergrowth organization.
Compensation will also include bonus based on profitability and HIGHLY attractive and competitive equity component in addition to full benefits.

As President, you will be responsible for:
The President is tasked with providing strong leadership for the company by working with the owner and other executives to establish short and long-term goals, plans and strategies. The President is responsible for leading the entire workforce and they will manage budgets and make sure resources are allocated properly. Managing and delivering the Development projects to on target completion, timelines and budgeted costs is of paramount importance.
The President provides day-to-day leadership and management of staff that serve the overall strategic vision and goals of the company. Tasked with developing and enforcing policies and procedures, mentoring subordinates as well as cultivating and maintaining productive relationships with Clients, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors in both Pre-construction and Operations Phases. They must be solution-oriented, prevention-based, and have an organized, logical approach to thinking through issues and challenges.
The President will lead Marketing and Business Development professionals in identifying, vetting and pursuing new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic focus. To manage the necessary pre-qualification processes to secure new opportunities. Additionally, they will interface with potential and current clients to build relationships and promote new business, seeking repeat opportunities.
The President will lead the estimating department in developing complete bid packages including qualification materials, project estimates, bid schedules and proposals. They will manage the estimating schedule and the workload and lead the pursuit of clients and post-bid negotiations in order to secure new work.
The President will lead the field personnel team in proper planning, subcontractor selection, and execution of the work. They will lead the teams to achieve the progress of each project and make adjustments as needed to keep the projects on track for success. The President will keep in touch with clients to ensure their overall satisfaction with the Company’s performance and build lasting relationships to ensure future repeat business. Track the performance of individual projects based on cost and schedule and make the necessary alterations. Monitor and prevent major cost and schedule impacts. Communicate and implement necessary changed conditions to protect the company from liability and clients from unnecessary expenses.
Qualifications for President
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Real Estate Development, Urban Development, or related area.
15-20+ years of Senior level management experience in the industry is preferred.
Possess extensive knowledge of the industry, permitting process, and market conditions.
Effective presentation and interpersonal skills.
Able to instill investor confidence and strong investor relations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong public presence and professional image.
Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Flexible to work long hours when required.
Committed to excellence, success, and growth of organization.
Must have experience overseeing commercial construction projects in the $10M-$150M+ range.
