POSITION SUMMARY

The R&D Test Engineer will be an integral member of product development team focusing on design verification and design transfer activities and supporting testing during development. The Engineer will participate in design of tests, authoring the protocols, performing sub-systems and system-level verification tests, generating reports. This role may also participate or lead the design of test fixtures and the verification/validation of test set ups and processes. This role requires collaboration with internal teams such as Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Operations, and external vendors, such as test houses.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform verification and validation activities for new and existing products, devices, and processes.

Design test plans, test protocols, and test scripts.

Evaluate and execute design verification protocols ensuring that the design specifications are met.

Prepare detailed reports based on results of verification and qualification tests.

Ensure that verified deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.

Hold and facilitate reviews with cross-functional team members.

Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of test issues.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

BS degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering required.

2+ yrs experience in medical device industry or regulated environment experience desired.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills required.

Strong Technical Writing skills required.

Attention to details, organizational skills, and time management skills are required.

Experience in Verification and Validation of Medical devices desired.

Experience in Validation of Test fixtures/methods desired.

Experience in test and measurement software development using tools such as LabView, Python, or MATLAB required.

Experience in the use of CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) required.

Working knowledge of Basic Statistics required.

Six Sigma Training / Certification desired.

Minitab or comparable statistical software experience desired.

Expertise in use of Microsoft Office, such as Excel and writing macros are desired.
