Lake Superior Consulting is seeking to fill a Scheduler position at our regional office in either Roseville or Duluth, MN or our Pittsburgh, PA office. The Scheduler is an entry - level scheduler who is responsible for project schedule plans and creation, reviewing and/or analyzing of schedules using CPM (Critical Path Method). This includes maintaining CPM schedules, baselines, and updates.
The successful candidate plays a vital role in project scheduling responsibilities within our organization and for our clients; from project inception through successful delivery. Projects may involve estimating, contracting, schedule design, project management, risk management, earned value project/performance management, and field verification of schedule progress for projects involving pipelines, related facilities, and other construction activities.
Familiar with project management and Critical Path Methodology (CPM) principles and techniques.
Creates, maintains, updates, and analyzes schedules using project management and CPM principles and techniques in areas such as; project scope tracking; subcontractor’s schedules; delays, including suggesting alternatives to regain slippage to the schedule; planned vs. actual percent complete reporting; progress and milestone reporting; resource utilization reporting; and CPM project schedules and baseline outlays.
Assist project team(s) with resource forecasting, resource leveling and resource workload.
Develop and maintain project schedules.
Develop and maintain multiple project schedules; including but not limited to:
Resource and cost loading schedules;
Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Activity coding.
Supports schedule risk models for ongoing risk assessments for assigned project(s), recommends corrective, mitigating or improvement actions to the project team.
Utilize schedule reporting and analysis features such as Claim Digger and time-distributed reports.
Communicates schedule status, facilitates project schedule meetings and activities with project leads, multiple levels of management, and subcontractors.Facilitate continuous schedule reviews with all levels of the project team, vendors, and subcontractors.
High School Diploma.
Well organized and ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
Analytical skills with ability to dissect problems and quickly develop solutions.
Proven computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred skills and experience:
Experience working in a planning or scheduling position.
Familiarity with project management principles and techniques.
Experience managing projects with Microsoft Projects.
Familiarity with Primavera 6 Professional or EPPM version 8.1 – 18.
Ability to understand engineering, construction, and specifications and drawings.
Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, business administration, or closely related field and schedule or project management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
