As a Mechanical Engineer, this is your unique opportunity to set your mark and live on the leading edge. As part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional project team, you will be responsible for the Technical direction of major new research and development, product design and product improvement projects. This position requires technical innovation as well as a moderate level of technical skill in the areas of design, analysis, development, and testing of new products and components.
Inspire and invent creative solutions to the Styling Space product categories. Apply innovative practices and ideas to product designs that leads our industry and delights our customers, including smart home connected products.
Determine the technical feasibility of new product concepts. Prepares detailed project plans including technical objectives and approaches, design specifications, test specifications, schedule plans, project cost estimates, and product cost analyses.
Carries out in-depth design and development work of a moderately complex nature. Particular attention is given to qualification test plans to create robust products. Product categories comprise of smart mirrors/cabinets, furniture, and lighting/electronic accessories.
Manages system level engineering of a product. Accountable for comprehensive test plans and risk analysis for full system; can include mechanical, material, electrical, software, field tests, etc.
Understanding of electrical systems integration with collaboration of electrical and software engineering, as well as UL/FCC & equivalent regulations.
Prepares project, technical, cost, and other reports to show project progress as required.
Conducts/attends Technical Design Reviews, Failure Mode and Effect Analyses, etc., and contributes sound professional opinion, creative ideas, concepts, and approaches to new product design and development projects.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related degree from an ABET accredited program.
College internship, Co-Op or previous engineering work exposure preferred.
Readily capable of applying engineering fundamentals to practical problem solving and in advanced product-related technologies.
