Antietam Broadband has an immediate, full-time opening for a Senior Network Engineer. This position is required to improve and optimize current network, design and implement new network elements, and maintain operations in a large, high-volume service provider network. Responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, associated software, and communication links. Also required to troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze network traffic, and provide strategic planning solutions. Candidate will work cross functionally with other departments and define best-practice standards for network operations.
Configure and maintain Cisco ASR9000s and related switches and routers.
Troubleshoot highly complex data, voice or video network and hardware problems.
Perform capacity planning through the ongoing monitoring, alerting, and reporting of resource utilization levels and errors in the environment using a variety of tools and processes.
Implement and maintain collaboration security best practices by assessing current threats, vulnerabilities, risks and associated technical countermeasures.
Migrate and maintain hosts into segregated, secured network segments with appropriate security policy.
Strong documentation and creation of process in a form of MOPs, incident reports, change documentation, and network diagrams.
Configure and setup Cisco Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
Design, setup and configure complex switching environments
Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications
Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, LAG groups
Maintaining multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance with both private and public facilities
Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support
Supervising the administration of systems and servers related network to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
Conducts routine network hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
You will need to have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 8 years hands-on experience working in a highly available network environment.
Cisco Certifications a must including CCNP route/switch, Security or Service Provider, or related advanced certification.
Advanced knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, Metro/CarrierE, MPLS, IPSec VPN, Layer 2/3 switching, VLAN, spanning-tree.
Expert knowledge of dynamic routing protocols, OSPF, BGP.
Ability to implement continuous process improvement.
Proven experience with carrier-class routing and switching equipment.
Valid state driver's license and clean driving record.
Even Better If You Have:
Capable with Internet-related systems, DNS, HTTP, POP, IMAP, SMTP, NTP, and so on.
Capable with network account administration, TACACS, RADIUS.
Knowledge designing/deploying firewall systems (ASA), Intrusion detection and prevention management. DDoS mitigation.
Experience working under a formal framework (ITIL) a plus.
Linux experience a plus.
