Responsible for managing key golf ball related testing which assists in the evaluation of new concepts, product development and manufacturing processes. Develop new test methods that better replicate on-course play by a wide range of golfers. Seek opportunities to improve data quality and produce reliable and consistent results. Utilize several robots that replicate a player’s swing, data acquisition systems, various endurance test equipment, and an aerodynamic facility to evaluate prototypes for potential benefits over existing golf ball designs.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Manage test functions, develop weekly test schedules and work with team to ensure timely results.
Setup, troubleshoot and maintain test hardware and software systems for golf ball robot, endurance and aerodynamic performance testing.
Improve, update, and maintain test procedures to ensure team is receiving consistent and reliable test data.
Analyze test data to help generate trends, develop new metrics and help with conclusions.
Develop complete understanding of critical product specs and how they relate to product performance. Assist team in troubleshooting product that doesn’t meet performance specifications.
Evaluate new test equipment and perform upgrades to existing equipment to meet the growing requirements of the golf ball team.
Develop new tests that replicate on course play and assist team in evaluating new designs.
Measure and analyze existing ball products and tooling.
Document results, define performance range, analyze areas for improvement
Write technical reports that document approach, methods, and findings that will be reviewed by other team members.
Participate in evaluation of new designs/products.
Evaluate and develop simulation tools that have the potential to replace prototyping and physical testing.
Evaluate automation opportunities to improve testing efficiency and operator ergonomics.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required
