A leading manufacturer of commercial and residential architectural millwork and custom cabinetry is seeking an experienced CAD Draftsperson with background in the millwork woodworking industry head our drafting team. This candidate should be professional, organized and motivated with exceptional communication, management and leadership skills and attention to detail, able to work well under pressure, resolve issues, perform alone or as part of a team.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD drafting in the custom woodworking industry creating shop and submittal drawings for client approval and shop fabrication (Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of architectural drafting standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of interior architecture, millwork engineering and cabinet construction, including typical cabinet and architectural hardware
  • Skillful with interpreting and adapting architectural working drawings into shop production set to resolve discrepancies affecting production
  • Incorporate redlines and field measurements to produce final production drawings
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Shop Foreman and Purchasing Manager to insure accuracy & detailed organization for project documentation
  • Researchmaterials and hardware cut sheets required for functionality and material submittals
  • Compile drawings into complete shop drawing packages including floor key plans, plan views, elevations, sections, and details
  • Troubleshootdesigns as required and value engineer solutions as possible
  • Follow and updatecompany guidelines pertaining to data storage location, naming conventions and drawing layout standards
  • Willingnessto work as needed to make schedules and keep projects on track
  • Proficiency in MS Office products: Excel, Word and Outlook and Bluebeam Revu
  • Previous experience with Microvellum, CNC router programming a desirable plus
  • Previous construction or woodworking shop experience a plus
  • Previous department management a plus

Salary: $50,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
