SRI is interested in hiring a talented experienced RF Research Engineer to join our hardware development team within the Surveillance Lab. As a member of the team, you will engage in cutting-edge development efforts in support of on-going projects, support internal R&D efforts, and assist with developing new programs through proposal development and client engagement. Candidates who apply must be resourceful and able to work independently and as a team member in support of new and on-going projects.
Responsibilities:
As a project team member, you will contribute to defining problems, determining technical requirements and preliminary hardware designs. You will also analyze specific hardware configurations and propose maintenance and test solutions. You must be capable of troubleshooting hardware related issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools to identify system problems.
Tasks performed may include, but are not limited to:
Design and simulation of RF circuits and systems, ranging in frequency from UHF to W band
Testing and evaluation of RF circuits, antennas and prototype fabrication
Troubleshooting of hardware integration issues
Participate in RF system-level design and trade studies
Preparation of documentation and drawings
Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline and 3 years experience, or a BS with 8+ years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Understanding of system-level RF hardware (mixers, amplifiers, filters)
RF cascaded analysis, simulation, and test
Experience operating oscilloscopes, network and spectrum analyzers
