Skullcandy is seeking a proactive and hands-on Product Quality Engineer who will play an integral role in delivering products to market thatexceed customer and market expectations. At its core, the role will be the voice of the customer, ensuring quality standards and risks are assessed at every stage of the development process. The ideal candidate will be driven, self-motivated, detail orientated, and collaborative. They will be able to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and international manufacturers to drive continuous improvement efforts.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Translate product requirements and use case scenarios into testable, repeatable test cases. This may also include designing and validating new tests where none exists.
Define acceptance criteria and reliability targets using industry standards or by setting product benchmark targets.
Create, define, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases. Ensure design teams and contract manufacturer understands all aspects of the test plans and test cases in development phase.
Reviews and collaboratively approves product validation test results by accurately assessing risk level and adjusts validation approach based on the risk level.
Drive and lead quality planning processes and tools to maximize quality assurance. Advise and champion for design controls and preventative activities during the concept, plan, and design phases.
Uses statistical analysis tools to track and identify emerging production and quality issues while assessing risk and severity.
Works as part of the Product Development team to assist in sustaining engineering activities, product design, design reviews and other Product Development tasks as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
3-5 years of experience in quality, development and/or manufacturing
Experience working for major brand in either OEM or ODM manufacturing a plus
Excellent computer skills (Windows, Office, Visio, Project, Minitab, etc)
Knowledge of Solidworks used for fixture design, 3D printing, and machining a plus,
Ability to travel internationally
Understanding of quality practices and tools defined in APQP quality management systems
Hands on experience with
prototyping mechanical concepts, machining processes, injection molded parts
manufacturing analysis methods
