HII- Nuclear and Environment Group (HII-NEG) is currently seeking an Engineer Test Operations 1 to work out of their Newport News, VA office.
HII- Nuclear is a business group within Technical Solutions; a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) that delivers professional services to a wide variety of government and commercial customers worldwide. HII Nuclear delivers critical services to our DOD and DOE.
Candidate must have the following:
Successfully completed an Undergraduate Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited school
Participated in an Engineering Internship
Experience utilizing industry-current Engineering design and analytical or modeling software
Able to obtain and maintain a Confidential Security Clearance
Essential Job Responsibilities
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and 0 years of relevant professional/exempt experience. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
