We are looking for a new colleague to join our PowerLine Engineering Team in a position that will sit in the Seattle, WA area.
Responsibilities:
Lead the diagnoses of complex field complaints through collaboration with the OEM technical service personnel, OEM field Dealer personnel, and ZF personnel using available root cause analysis tools.
Serve as a technical liaison to the customer for all service activities. Provide clarification and technical explanation of ZF product specifications, component functions, configurations, and backward compatibility.
Relay requests for non-service issues to appropriate departments at ZF.
Support (on-site as necessary) any service issues arising during customer testing stages related to ZF product including, but not limited to, providing technical support for customer prototype and vehicle builds, vehicle tests, dynamometer and component tests, and transmission systems integration projects.
Participate in ZF continuous-improvement activities to test and assist with development of product, improve data analysis techniques, and to develop new service procedures.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering in Mechanical/Electrical, Computer/Software, or related field required
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineer or Technician within a powertrain development and/or manufacturing environment within commercial vehicle or automotive industry required
Deep knowledge of the technical components and critical functions of an automatic transmission and/or automated manual transmission – specifically for the medium-duty and heavy-duty truck market – required
Experience in multiple troubleshooting strategies, including 5S, 6-Sigma, 8D, etc. as well as experience with ZF Testman and associated systems for use in troubleshooting transmission issues is necessary
Ability to travel (up to 25%), domestic and international required
Must have (or have the ability to obtain) and maintain a Class A CDL within six months of hire
