This role will support launch activities and production ramp up of Body Exterior Systems
Essential Duties (This list is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned):
Responsible for delivery of the Body Exterior engineering requirements from the prototype phase through to stable production, including being first point of contact for all Mule build related issues.
Provide and apply broad and in-depth engineering knowledge and expertise to support new engineering activities and resolve problems both before and during Prototype builds.
Ensure lessons from robust root cause actions are being driven back to core and advanced engineering teams.
Represent Body Exterior Engineering with the plant team during launch, maintaining strong inter-departmental relationships amongst the other teams.
Be the first point of contact for all the issues found on the builds and resolve, calling in support from the DREs and Managers when required.
Ensure all programs attain established goals with a clear focus on quality, cost, and delivery; drive continuous improvement efforts in all areas of engineering management.
Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs
Travel to client sites required.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ yrs relevant industry experience, Master's degree preferred
Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Automotive, Manufacturing.
3+ years CAD design experience in Body Exteriors, with execellent undersstanding of systems and components which surround it
2+ years experience delivering multiple vehicle programs to production, with specific experience in at least two of the exterior areas
Badges and Labels
Production support of Body Exterior systems, including root cause analysis of fit and finsh concerns
Experience using 3-D modeling software tools (CATIA V5/V6 preferred).
Ability to drive and solve complex problems, using advanced problem-solving techniques to determine containment, root cause analysis, countermeasure, and lessons learned.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS office.
